I can’t remember the last time since I did a good old haul of things I’ve brought on my blog and that’s partly what motivated me to start blogging to begin with, I was always wanting to share the new things I got with like minded people. I have tried to cut down on the amount of buy both beauty and clothing as I’m trying to save but I also don’t really need anything.
So today I thought I’d take it right back and do a haul of new beauty bits that I’ve picked up in the last months and have in turn ended up loving. Who doesn’t love a beauty buying enabling blog post mid way during the month hey?! All items will be linked if they are available to buy online.
I had some birthday vouchers to use mostly in relation to loyalty schemes so definitely took advantage and picked up some new bits with those. One of those vouchers was actually for The Body Shop where I ended up picking up the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter and the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil. I was in the market for a new cleanser as even though I absolutely love the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, it’s quite expensive and I find my skin had got far too used to it which normally is the signal to change things up. I’ve been using the cleansing butter for a good few weeks now and I love it, not only is it effective in taking my make-up off, it also is really moisturising and helps calm my skin down. I put this straight on my make-up at the end of the day and then wipe it off with a warm wet cleansing cloth. The texture is a mix between a butter and almost oil/gel formula which makes it so easier to use and a little goes a long way. I haven’t used the oil as much yet as it is taking some getting used to but when I have used it, I’ve been so impressed with how little you actually need to use.
Next up is some items from Lush which me and my mum have both become obsessed with since trying to become a bit more environmentally friendly. I’ve picked up a few new bath products but that’s not what I want to mention in this post. Along the same line as cleansers like I was just talking about, I picked up the 7 to 3 cleansing wipe which is amazing and honestly life changing. If you’re wanting an environmentally friendly cleanser that is also great if you’re going on holiday or travelling then this is definitely for you. It lasts around 2 weeks and looks like a cotton pad, you rub it over your face that has make-up on but is slightly wet then I rub it in and wipe off with a warm wet cleansing cloth. It then slowly disintegrates after every use and makes it perfect for travelling and also being kind to the environment. I also picked up the Cookie Dough lip scrub as I felt like my lips needed some TLC and the smell of this was just too good to resist, it is AMAZING! I’m not a massive fan of having things on my lips but I know this is doing good and making them feel and look good too.
I haven’t got much in the way of actually make-up as I think I’ve got to a place with make-up that I have everything I need and I’ve found staples that I will keep on repurchasing over again. Make-up isn’t cheap as a whole to buy either so I feel like if I do buy make-up then it’s a definitely an educated purchase. Saying that though, I have got a few new make-up bits that I’ve been loving. One of those being the Primak PS beauty Brunch Club highlighter which is blinding for the price and one I’ve been reaching for every day. What’s perfect about it too is that it won’t break the bank when you have the urge to buy some new make-up as its only £2.50.
I’ve been searching for a new finishing powder as I was finding my foundation was getting a little shinny and again I’ve been using the same powder for a few years so it was time for a switch up. I ended picking up the Rimmel Insta Fix & Matte translucent powder which is very on brand for me ha ha. I’ve really been loving using this and I find I’m not looking as shinny as much now whilst still not looking cakey. It’s a thin sort of powder consistence with the right amount of coverage.
Finally I picked up the three palettes that Make-Up Revolution collaborated with Roxi on. Two of them being eye shadow palettes and the other being a contour and highlight palette. All three palettes are so reasonably priced and I love the formulation and pigment of the eye shadows. There’s the Colourburst palette that has the most vibrant and bright colours that will have you wanting to experiment to your hearts content. There’s the Ride or Die palette which has more day to day wearable colours that I’ve definitely been using more. I love the cute details of having the R pressed into some of the colours. The contour and highlight palette has a range of colours that will suit and compliment everyones complexion.
That brings this haul/round up to an end. I’m really happy with the bits I have picked up and things that will stay in my collection that I genuinely love and enjoy. Have you picked up anything new lately in the beauty area? Or have you tried anything I mentioned in this post?
