Music I’ve Been Loving…

When it comes to music, I’ve learnt to not be confined by genres or certain artists…if I like a song then that’s it, there’s nothing more to it. I used to feel ashamed about liking certain artists or genres because of the judgement I sometimes got, which to me now is just stupid! So here’s a big middle finger to judgement and a big hello to listening to whatever I bloody want.

That being said I thought it was about time I talk about some music I’ve been loving at the moment. Trust me when I say there’s probably something for everyone in this post. I love talking about music because it basically takes up a lot of my life so I’ve never been short of things to say. I still get excited when I hear a new song for the first time, there’s nothing quite like that feeling and it’s something I would love to relive if I ever got the chance with some songs.

If you’ve been loving any music that you think I might like then please send over your recommendations, they’ll be very much welcomed.

Let’s cut to the chase with this first music favourite because frankly it’s all I’ve been listening to religiously and has resulted in my mum being sick of it completely. I’ve been a fan of Bring Me The Horizon for a far few years now, I’ve even got a tattoo linked to them. Their latest offering Amo seemed like even more of a jump in their musical direction than That’s The Spirit but something that seemed organic and natural. I’ll admit it took a few listens to really get into it but it’s worth the time. I haven’t stopped listening to the complete album which is rare because I normally find one or two songs I’m not keen on. It’s a real testament to how far they’ve come from musical from their younger days. It’s actually quite amazing to hear Oli’s clean vocals that have come such a long way but sound so fitting and perfect with their more techno sound now. Make sure you take the time to listen to the lyrics too especially in Heavy Metal…brings a whole new depth to the album.

Stand out songs; Mother Tongue, Heavy Metal and  Sugar, Honey, Ice and Tea.

I know I’m late to the party but yes I finally listened to Billie Eilish and well I don’t regret pressing that play button one bit. My brother had been playing her stuff quite a bit so I was familiar but hadn’t really taken the time to listen to her. I can’t quite get my head around the fact she’s so young yet has the wisdom and talent of someone so much older…I mean that with no shade intended at all. It’s mind blowing. Her voice is so pure sounding but with her lyrics and image comes an edge that at first can catch you off guard. I’ll have to admit it’s not my usual sounding music choice but it was nice to branch out to something that’s so far from my normal.

Stand out songs; Bellyache, Lovely, When the party’s over

Que me turning into a teenager again because my next two songs are from throwback bands that have made a comeback and I definitely ain’t mad about. I actually love when bands make comebacks because it prompts me to revisit their older stuff and I just end up having the biggest jam session of classic throwback songs. If you haven’t guessed who I’m talking about yet…it is of course Busted and Jonas Brothers. Yes both boybands of my past have made a comeback and with it comes some absolute tunes that I’ve had on repeat.

Let’s first talk about Busted, yes they’ve reformed in all their threesome glory and it’s like no time had pasted to be honest. There’s been one song in particular of theirs that I’ve not been able to stop listening to, a single from their album and it’s called Radio. There’s something about this song that is just totally catchy and feel good. I think part of it has to do with the bridge just before the chorus that Charlie sings…it’s the tone and rhythm of his voice. It’s the perfect song to listen to when the sun is shining and the windows are down in the car…can we have that weather already please?! I’ve listened to the album a bit but not that much to form an opinion, it’s awesome to see a band come back with a similar but more mature sound.

Jonas Brothers…yes they’re back and better than ever! Like what I was saying with Busted it’s nice to hear a band come back with a more mature sound and well this isn’t more true than the Jonas Brothers with their new song Sucker. I honestly didn’t think I’d like it as much as I do at first but what a tune it is. Nick’s vocals are something to be applauded over and over again and the beat is insane. The video for the song takes the song to another level too and you can tell that so much has been thrown at it to make sure their comeback is bigger and better than ever.

Ever since I saw Ten Tonnes support Tom Grennan last year me and my boyfriend have been obsessed with the Indie sound. I’ve only just found out that Ten Tonnes is actually George Ezra’s younger brother which blew my mind at first for some reason. In a way I’m glad I didn’t know this before but I would have had a judgement about him before I even listened and I like how he doesn’t make a big deal about it either, it’s goes to show that he wants to make it on his own. Ten Tonnes latest offering from his up and coming album is called Better Than Me and it’s a song that catches you by surprise when it gets to the chorus, the beat kicks in and you’ll end up singing the song title in the tune all day. It’s so refreshing to hear new music from such a young fresh talent that is making waves for British born music.

Stand out songs; Cracks Between, Born To Lose

Some days you just need silky smooth vocals with a catchy beat and well I find that when listening to Charlie Puth’s latest album Voicenote. Honestly it’s only been recently that I actually took the time to listen to the album fully and well it caught me by surprise, I got sucked in really. I just love how funky some of the songs are and you’ll find yourself bopping along to so many. I don’t think Charlie Puth get enough praise for his vocals, they are breathtaking. It’s the type of album that you can put on and it instantly improves your mood somewhat.

Stand out songs; Empty Cups, LA Girls, The Way I Am, BOY

Those were just a few music favourites I’ve been loving at the moment, I’ll try to do this more regularly as like I said I love talking about music and sharing it with you guys. I’m constalty finding new music so I’ll have plenty to share…Spotify Premium is amazing in that sense and in my opinion well worth the money every month.

Thanks again for stopping by my blog and reading my latest post. Be sure to check back next week for a brand new post.

Until next time,
